Every four years there’s the same talk about Abortion in the Republican primaries, but does anything ever really get accomplished through political means? No way, not at all.
The hardness of men’s hearts is what it is. We can sit around and talk about abortion until we’re blue in the face and wait for politicians to do something about this until the cows come home.
Or we can actually DO something about this!
On May 16, 2015, the Miami Valley Women’s Center is holding their annual Walk 4 Life. This is not merely a protest walk, but a fund raiser to support the ministry of the Women’s Center. Please Join me as I support their ministry.
From their website:
The Miami Valley Women’s Center is an organization that values life, supports families and demonstrates Christ’s love. This mission is accomplished by serving the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of women and families who are in crisis because of an unplanned pregnancy. Since it’s inception in 1982, God has grown the Miami Valley Women’s Center to become one of the larger crisis pregnancy centers in the nation, with three service locations in the Greater Dayton area. The Center is blessed with strong, engaged, and dedicated supporters throughout Ohio’s Miami Valley.
The battle against abortion may feel like a losing one, but not in every case. Out of 813 pregnancy tests administered by the Center in 2014, 727 mothers chose life. To me, that’s 727 wins! If you add all of them up since 2010, the total score comes to 2,478 children! That may seem like a few drops in a bucket, but each one of those drops is a person made in the image of God who now has a life they may not otherwise have had.
Unlike the feeble and empty gestures offered by politicians, the Miami Valley Women’s Center’s ministry of caring for expectant mothers and counseling them to see their pregnancy from the Biblical Worldview is having a real impact to save real lives every day in the Greater Dayton Area.
On May 16, I will be Walking 4 Life to support their ministry. Of course, walking two miles in a parade does absolutely nothing in and of itself. The real power for the center comes from the Gospel, and the real impact of this event comes from those like you who also want to see this ministry succeed so much that you are willing to sponsor those like me who will be walking in this event.
I’ve given myself a piddly little goal of $250, and so far, with 23 days left, I’ve only raised $20. But If only 11.5 people were to match that $20 today, I would reach my goal in a snap. Don’t ask me how a half a person can contribute $20. I honestly don’t know. But maybe that doesn’t matter, because I would love to do even better than that. Perhaps we can raise $500? $1,000? The sky is the limit if the Lord moves.
Would you join me in helping to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves? Together we can make a difference. Please visit my FundEasy page and prayerfully consider contributing whatever you can to this cause.
